Plan of Salvation
OUR MOST IMPORTANT WEB PAGE
Life is full of questions, some insignificant some important and some of eternal consequence. The latter is what should concern us the most. Every thinking person eventually ponders life's three greatest questions.
Life's Greatest Questions
Where did I come from? What is the purpose of my existence? What happens when I die?
Where did I come from?
There are primarily, two conflicting world views concerning the origin of the universe and life itself. These two views are diametrically opposed and irreconcilable, obviously one is true and the other false.
Evolutionary World View
The secular world holds that the universe began billions of years ago, when preexisting matter and energy exploded (the big bang theory) and then expanded, forming the present cosmos ( which begs the question, where did the preexisting matter and energy come from?) Then, after billions of additional years of exposure to energy, inanimate matter spontaneously arose into biological life (life from non-life?) Then, supposedly, through a process of evolution these simple life forms gradually developed into complex life forms by means of mutation and natural selection. Therefore, according to the "Theory of Evolution" the origin and development of the universe, earth, all living organisms, including man, can be explained solely by time and chance.
Regarding life's greatest questions the evolutionary model basically states that man is a purposeless creature, merely a biological machine, which evolved from nothing and is going no where! This godless theory is a humanistic attempt to undermine the Bible and discredit traditional Christianity.
Creationist World View
Creationists totally reject, both the "big bang theory" and the "theory of evolution", believing that, God created the universe exactly as described in the Bible. We hold to a literal interpretation of the Genesis account of Gods six day creation of the earth, man and all forms of life:
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."(Gen.1:1).
As to the creation of man, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Gen.2:7).
The Bible states that man was created in the image of God, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."(Gen.1:27).
Therefore, life's greatest questions can be answered as follows:
Where did I come from?
You are a descendant of the first man Adam, (the federal head of the human race) who was created by God.
What is the purpose of my existence?
The original purpose, for which God created man, was to bear His image and be His representation on earth. Adam was designed to live forever, exercising dominion over all God's creation, bringing glory to his Creator.
Unfortunately Adam used his God given free will to disobey his Creator. As a result of Adam's sin a vital change of enduring significance occurred, a change which would not only condemn him but all his descendants.
When the creature chose to defy the Creator a fatality occurred, not outwardly but inwardly... at that point Adam and Eve died spiritually, separating them from God. (Also physical death became inevitable)
"Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned..." (Romans 5:12) [Emphasis mine].
What happens when I die?
When you die physically your soul will spend eternity either in Heaven or Hell depending on whether you die "in Adam" or "in Christ". The Bible says, "...in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."(1 Corinthians 15:22).
In reality there are only two spiritual families in the world: the family of Adam and the family of Christ. Every person on earth belongs to one of these families. To die "in Adam" means to die in your sins. When you die there are only two possible places where your sins can be, either on you or a Substitute! For this very reason God sent His Son Jesus Christ ("the last Adam") into the world to die a substitutionary death on the behalf of Adam's descendants.
"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit..."(1 Peter 3:18).
"...For if through the offence of one [Adam] many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many." (Romans 5:15) [Emphasis mine].
When Jesus stated, "...Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3), he was speaking of a spiritual rebirth, the reversal of the spiritual death we inherited from Adam.
That Jesus was speaking of a spiritual regeneration is obvious by the verses that follow John 3:3, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I say unto thee, ye must be born again." (John 3:6-7).
At this point you might ask how can I be "born again" so as to exit Adam's race and be saved "in Christ"?
First, Acknowledge:
"I acknowledged my sins unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid."(Psalm 32:5).
Before you can be forgiven you must acknowledge your need of forgiveness. You must agree with God's assessment of your true condition as proclaimed in His Word, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God..." (Romans 3:23).
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one..."(Romans 3:10).
"For there is not a just man upon the earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not." (Ecclesiastes 7:20).
Fact is we are ALL sinners, by birth, by nature, by practice and by choice.
The penalty for our sins is eternal death,"The wages of sin is death..."(Romans 6:23). "The soul that sinneth, it shall die." (Ezekiel 18:20).
Second, Repent:
"For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin"(Psalm 38:18).
Genuine repentance involves sorrow for one's actions, in this case godly sorrow and a willingness to turn away from sin.
"For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation..."(2 Corinthians 7:10).
Third, Believe:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."(John 3:16). Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, willingly shed His blood and died for you; then three days later resurrected from the dead.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.(Romans 5:8-9).
Fourth, Ask the Lord to Save you:
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."(Romans 10:13).
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."(Romans 10:9-10).
Once you have, by faith with a sincere heart done these four things, you have passed from death unto life. You have God's Word on it!
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."(John 1:12-13)
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." Jesus Christ, (John 5:24).
Jesus also said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."(John 10:27-28).
